TARKETT’S BALANCED CHOICE The Linoleum range is part of Tarkett’s choice of sustainable solutions. It is an integrated system that allows you to balance all the competing needs (environment, performance, budget), while making choices that are truly sustainable and work together aesthetically.

Good Raw Materials Tarkett’s Linoleum range is made with a 95 % average of natural raw materials (linseed oil, pine rosin, cork flour, wood flour, limestone and jute) of which an average of 77 % is renewable.

Resource Stewardship Our Linoleum range is produced in Narni, Italy. The factory applies an environmental management system (ISO 14001). Over the last three years, our Narni factory has made numerous improvements: 50% reduction of waste level 32 % reduction in water consumption (introduction of closed loop). 3 % reduction in energy consumption. 60% increase in recycled material As for all Tarkett sites, the Narni site is assessed from an environmental point of view by an external auditor every two years. No risks were identified in the Narni site during 2009. We use Life Cycle Analysis as a basis for new product development to reduce the product’s impact on the environment.

People-friendly Spaces Tarkett’s Linoleum range delivers valuable health, hygiene and welfare benefits Proprietary xf TM surface treatment reduces water, detergent and energy consumption and ensures easy cleaning and maintenance (no wax or polish needed). Low VOC emissions, contributing to good indoor air quality and no odours from the flooring: <100 μg/m3 at 28 days – 10 times below demands in European Standard (1000 μg/m3). Formaldehyde emissions below detection level. Natural bacteriostatic properties that support good hygiene and inhibit the growth of several bacteria including MRSA, tested by IMSL-Industrial Microbiological Services Ltd Environmental and sanitary performance is confirmed by various labels: Der Blaue Engel (Germany), Ü Mark (Germany), Umweltzeichen (Austria), the Swan (Nordic), Geca (Australia), A+ (France) and FloorScore (USA).

Reuse and Recycle In our closed loop production we are able to optimize the consumption of raw materials using 10% average of re-processed linoleum powder to decrease the disposed material. According to EN 14021 our product is composed by 30% average of pre-consumer recycled material.
